A 30 minute Case Study by:

About this Case Study

When an entire industry gets turned upside down almost overnight, it requires a very different approach to software development. Under intense market, media and regulatory pressure, FanDuel moved quickly from hypergrowth to shipping regular features - all whilst competing toe-to-toe with an aggressive competitor.

Now out the other end of a failed merger with that same competitor, this is that story so far from the feature delivery perspective. How do you create effective teams that span the Atlantic, delivering features in a product your engineers can’t play, all whilst operating in an environment where one mistake could destroy the industry? What happens when your biggest rivals might become your co-workers and colleagues? We talk about people and products, successes and failures - and how to make product development work in a world where nothing stands still.

About the Speakers

Niels Kee

Niels is a senior project manager in FanDuel’s Edinburgh office. Prior to that he did something similar in financial services, and before that he was a developer/architect/general-code-person for over a decade, progressively finding more value in helping others learn and improve than through just writing software himself. His values are now focused on empowering teams to make their own decisions through collaboration, experimentation and curiosity.

Caroline McDowall

Passionate about people, Caroline is a senior project manager with a technical background and over 15 years' experience in the IT industry. She is currently working with FanDuel teams on both sides of the Atlantic, delivering exciting new features for Daily Fantasy Sports.
