About this Workshop
Welcome to a conference session like no other!
In celebration of our third year of raising awareness of neurodiversity, Inclusive Collaboration and friends cordially invite you to participate in our ‘Party’.
Come along to have fun discovering and experimenting, at your own pace, with different tools, toys and even foods! There will be ear defenders, noisier activities, wobble boards, sensory cushions, visual timetables, calming tools and much, much more.
Use them to explore, excite, soothe and educate yourself about how you could support the ‘neurodivergent’ you at work, just for you, or also what might help friends, teams or departments. Or just come to enjoy something different.
We will provide a relaxed space, the props and as little or as much guidance as you need.
This session is about learning more about yourself, neurodiversity, others and the surprising things that can support and enhance working and your workplace.
(You don’t need to RSVP, but be aware that there will be a good old-fashioned Japanese ticketing system in place - once the tickets are taken, you will need for someone to leave so that you can take their ticket.)
About the Speakers
Katherine Kirk is a highly experienced independent transformation consultant, international conference speaker and co-founder of the not-for-profit Inclusive Collaboration
movement in tech.
Katherine’s primary area of expertise lies in co-discovery and insight facilitation through exploring and combining eastern and tribal philosophy to find practical answers to tough, on-the-ground issues, specifically involving contextually driven edge-cases and the cultural interaction between hierarchical management and agile/lean teams.
After gaining a first class BSc (Hons) in computing, Katherine completed postgraduate studies in software engineering at University of Oxford. She currently enjoys being an active participant in a community of lean and agile practitioners in Europe who explore and challenge the status quo through experimenting and collaborating.
Dr Sal Freudenberg
Dr. Sal Freudenberg is Chief Being Sal Officer at Cucumber Ltd. When she’s not hacking, Sal focuses on nurturing more nimble, customer-centric and human(e) ways of working. She holds a PhD in the Psychology of Collaborative Software Development and since being diagnosed as autistic has developed an interest in neurodiversity.
Through re-assessing her own traits and neurology, and considering the extra-ordinary people with whom she has worked over her 25+ years in tech, Sal is raising awareness of the benefits of having diversity in our organisations and is helping the industry to begin to understand how to support and include every kind of brain.
