About the session

Welcome to an Elephant Carpaccio workshop where we will learn how to use agile techniques to slice the elephant of work into value slices. Working with a product owner on the value of cutting work and delivering value in small pieces is difficult to do.

Do a workshop running through executing slicing using elephant Carpaccio. The Elephant Carpaccio exercise is an excellent way for software people to practice & learn how to break stories into really thin vertical slices. (We can create a Scottish Version).

It also leads to interesting discussions about quality and tech practices. The exercise was invented by Alistair Cockburn and made popular by him and Henrick Kniberg. It is great fun for people to experience hands-on how they slice stories and create iterative value in tiny slices of the elephant.

Participant takeaways:

  • How to work as an agile team self-organising
  • How to slice work to a tight timeline
  • The Power of feedback
  • Take this back to your organisation and try it

This session has:

  • A session number cap: 40 participants
