About the session
Inclusion is the 4th Wave of Agile! Successful agile teams must be diverse and psychologically safe.
To build psychologically safe teams, agile practitioners MUST grow their practice to integrate DEIBA terminology, outcomes, and expectations or we will continue to perpetuate systemic trauma through our agile delivery.
This is a presentation-style talk that will be personal and funny, while also providing tools for creating better experiences for diverse teams.
Dee will use humour to discuss their personal experience within the tech industry covering the amazing support received, as well as the regular bullying and erasure as a queer person.
These experiences will be used as examples throughout the talk as Dee explores how agilists can create more resilient teams through the application of DEI aware systems thinking.
Participant takeaways:
- Articulate how DEIBA outcomes influence successful agile teams.
- Develop strategies to build a culture of accountable resilience to support the intersectional identities of any diverse team.
- Apply systems thinking to explore the impact of internal and external system interactions and how they affect psychologically safe feedback.
Themes:
Inclusivity, Feedback, Systems Thinking, Psychological Safety.
