About the session

Note: this session runs for 120 minutes + 30 minutes for afternoon break.

Our teams solve problems in a dynamic, complex world. The best teams are those that can adapt depending on the circumstances and the challenges in front of them. Whereas understanding the complex world is hard, helping the team to adapt is easier, but they need some help.

Cognitive Science - the study of mind and intelligence - is full of insights into how intelligence helps organisms adaptively solve problems.

In this session we will look at some of the basics in Cognitive Science and explore some practical tools that can help your teams adapt better to their problem space and environment.

Let’s use the science of intelligence to build brilliant agile teams.

Participant takeaways:

  • Understand what cognitive science is and how it is relevant to the problem of building successful agile teams
  • Understand John Vervaeke’s 4 P model of knowledge
  • Apply the 4P model to team or individual coaching situations, leaving them with a practical insightful tool and model to take into their work
