About the session

Themes:Complexity | Flow | Scale

When delivery problems become visible through missed deadlines, red metrics or escalation, they are usually already old. In disrupted environments, the cost of noticing late rises sharply.

This workshop helps participants experience that delay for themselves. Half the room analyses a real programme card by card, as most teams see their work. The other half sees the same underlying data as a whole system.

Both groups look for risk. The difference in what they can see reveals a practical truth: how information is structured determines how early problems can be noticed.

Participants leave with a clearer view of the earliest signals they are not yet reading in their own delivery systems.

Participant takeaways:

  • first-hand experience of how the structure of delivery information shapes what risks can be seen early
  • a practical way to distinguish early signals from lagging indicators in your own delivery system
  • one specific change you could make to surface a faster signal in your own context
  • a stronger understanding of how leadership, governance and tooling combine to make organisations notice too late
